Manuel Oria
Manuel Oria, beyond a yoga instructor, is a curator of movement experiences. Driven by the mystical glimpses that constant yoga practice provides, he passionately offers his students ways to begin their own journey of mapping the human experience. His passion for the art of movement has led him to extensively research Indian vinyasa technology, pranayama, movement based on contemporary science, and breathing practices. The practice regimen of the Ashtanga Yoga tradition became Manuel’s most precious find after dealing with the tragic loss of his father and the inevitable moment of instability that followed him. He began teaching yoga shortly after graduating from Progressive Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga School in 2014 with David Kyle, the same year that he finished his bachelor’s degree at the University of Puerto Rico. His academic training in Interdisciplinary Sciences fueled his passion for learning about the body and he used the yoga class as a platform to continue his studies.
Manuel is a Progressive Ashtanga Vinyasa E-RYT 500 and has also trained Classical Ashtanga with Manju Jois, Tim Feldmann, David Williams and Richard Freeman. Manuel is also a Certified Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist and Oxygen Advantage Functional Breathing Coach from which he base most of his principles for state of the art class directing
Since 2017, Manuel has trained hundreds of teachers in the arts of Ashtanga and is a Licensed Rocket Vinyasa Teacher Trainer. You can meet Manu for daily classes at Ashtanga Yoga Puerto Rico or internationally under Progressive Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga School.
