Mariza Michelle Böntgen
Mariza Böntgen Rocket Vinyasa Certification with Ambra in Berlin 2026
Bio
Mariza’s yoga journey began in 2016 with her first Ashtanga class in Ubud, Bali. After years of deepening her practice in Ashtanga Vinyasa and Power Yoga, she completed her Power Yoga training in Bali under students of Bryan Kest – a teacher who studied with K. Pattabhi Jois in India and is one of the pioneers who brought Power Yoga to the West.
After teaching Power Yoga and practicing Ashtanga for several years, Mariza discovered Rocket Yoga and was immediately drawn to its creative, playful, challenging, and humbling aspects. What she loved about it right away was the perfect blend it offered: the structure and “moving meditation” aspects of Ashtanga combined with the power and creativity of Power Yoga.

Teaching Philosophy
My intention in teaching (Rocket) Yoga is to help people step out of their minds and into their bodies. From my own experience, I know how easy it is to get stuck in the head – feeling disconnected and not fully present. Through yoga, I discovered a way back to awareness, intuition, and presence, and I want to share that with others.
I aim to guide students into a state of moving meditation, where they can surrender to the moment and experience a deeper connection with themselves. My classes are designed to be both challenging and accessible, offering variations so that every student feels welcome, safe, and empowered to explore their own practice.
I teach high-energy classes and strive to create an atmosphere where positive energy is contagious – where students feel uplifted, motivated, and inspired by the collective energy in the room. I want people to leave class not only feeling more present, but also energized and alive.
I seek to create an environment where effort and curiosity are encouraged, without pressure or judgment. Students should feel inspired to challenge themselves while still honoring their limits—learning to expand those limits with awareness rather than force. I encourage students to find comfort in discomfort, seeing it not as something to avoid, but as a space for growth and transformation.
A key part of my teaching philosophy is shifting the mindset from self-doubt to curiosity. Instead of “I can’t do this,” I aim to cultivate an attitude of “I’m excited to try.” I support students in developing this growth-oriented mindset, helping them become more open, resilient, and engaged in their practice.
Ultimately, I want my classes to be a space where people feel energized, present, and genuinely excited to return – for both the physical practice and the deeper connection it creates within themselves.
