Angeliki Matopoulou
Angeliki Matopoulou is the first authorized Rocket Vinyasa Yoga teacher in Greece by David C. Kyle. In 2014 she founded Rocket Yoga Athens – Rocket Yoga Greece as an effort to create the Rocket Yoga current in her country and from that moment through daily classes, workshops and teacher trainings the Rocket crew of Greece becomes larger and more powerful! In 2021 after completed the 300h education in Rocket she become the ambassador of Rocket in Greece.
Angeliki’s training on the Yoga path exceeds 800 hours in different styles. She is a certified yoga teacher E-RYT® 200, RYT® 500, YACEP® by Yoga Alliance and she is also Reiki Master.
In September 2018, opened her own Yoga studio the Pratyahara Yoga Center, in Agia Paraskevi, Athens, where it is now the permanent headquarters of Rocket Yoga Athens. There, in addition to the daily practices of various Yoga styles (Rocket Vinyasa, Hatha, Restorative, Prenatal, etc.) there are Reiki sessions, Thai Massage as well as teacher trainings in Rocket Vinyasa and in Hatha Yoga.
In detail: in January 2011 she attended at Atmanasana Yoga studio, her first training program for teachers, 200 hours, on Hatha Yoga and immediately started teaching successfully, as she already taught physical theater and acrobatics to actors and performers. Her need to delve deeper into Yoga led her to Mysore, India in July 2012, where she earned her second degree by attending the 300-hour Hatha Yoga Teacher’s Training at Darshanam Yoga School. Two years later, as she became more involved in dynamic practices, in July 2014, she traveled to Barcelona to attend a training program on the Ashtanga Vinyasa 1st series & the Rocket Vinyasa. with David C.Kyle. Then, in September 2015, she attended a training program in Athens on the Ashtanga Vinyasa 2nd series with teacher Manju P. Joys, son of the founder of Ashtanga Vinyasa, S. Pattabhi Jois. In March 2016 she returned to Barcelona to complete her first level of teaching and was certified in Rocket Vinyasa Yoga by David C.Kyle. In September 2016 she attended again in Athens another educational program on the Ashtanga Vinyasa 1st series with teacher Manju P. Joys and finally in July 2017 at the Rocket teacher held in Athens, she was her teacher’s assistant, and was certified by him (David C. Kyle) as Senior Rocket Yoga Teacher thus obtaining the license to teach educational programs on Rocket Vinyasa.
In February 2019 she had the good fortune to meet next to one of the greatest living Yoga teachers of our century, Dharma Mittra and to attend his classes for three days in London.
He has taught at Yoga festivals and workshops and has given lectures and seminars at various schools.
Earlier, Angeliki had a fifteen-year career in the field of performing arts and visual arts with valuable training in: decorative, design, classical and modern theater, physical theater, acrobatics, classical and modern dance, vocal, orthophony, percussion, contact physical theater, pantomime, puppetry, storytelling, theatrical clown, street theater techniques, stunts with hanging stilts, vertical dance, object manipulation etc … powerful tools for her educational work.
