Nosa Achile
Nosa Achile discovered a love for physical activities at a young age, enjoying basketball, running, and hiking. His passion for basketball was particularly fueled by an interest in the tactics behind the plays and an understanding of body movements. During the challenging COVID-19 period, Nosa moved to Athens and found himself in a stressful mental state. Seeking a new way to calm his mind while also exercising, he decided to explore yoga. Having always admired handstands and headstands but being hesitant to try them, he was inspired to give yoga a shot.
Nosa’s journey began under the guidance of his teacher, Rebekka Gogkou, who offered dynamic practices, including Rocket Yoga. He quickly fell in love with yoga as a practice that extended beyond just physical postures. After three years of dedication and understanding that yoga encompasses much more than just asanas, Nosa decided to enroll in a Yoga Teacher Training Course (TTC) focusing on 200 hours of Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga at Balilo in Exarhia, Greece, in 2023. Shortly after, he began teaching and sharing the joys of yoga with others.
The following year, Nosa pursued a Rocket Yoga training with David Kyle in Athens, completing his first 50-hour TTC. This experience opened his eyes to the amazing possibilities within Rocket Yoga, both in teaching and practicing. In 2025, he further expanded his expertise by undertaking another 50-hour TTC in Rocket with Angeliki Matopoulou, the only certified Rocket teacher able to deliver TTCs in Greece.
Incorporating his love for music and DJing into his practices, Nosa creates a dynamic atmosphere that enhances the yoga experience for his students. His typical practices can vary from easy flow sessions to more dynamic classes, supporting everyone in reaching their potential with dedication and patience.
Nosa, who is half Nigerian and half Greek, embraces and celebrates his multicultural identity. He uses music, instruments, and a variety of elements from both cultures to create a rich tapestry of expression in his classes, fostering a deeper connection with his students.
Although his initial goal during the first 200 hours was to enhance his practice rather than teach, Nosa discovered a profound love for connecting with his students when he was invited to begin teaching. With a background in psychology, he effectively incorporates various arts and sciences into his yoga lessons, fostering positive changes in his students’ lives. Yoga has empowered Nosa to explore himself, step outside his comfort zone, and embrace his multiple identities with a sense of calmness. He continually encourages his friends to try yoga and invest time in the practice to experience its rich spiritual, mental, and physical benefits.
For Nosa, yoga is not just a practice; it is a transformative journey. He believes in its ability to connect and uplift, inviting everyone to explore its depths, just as he has. The time to start is now!
