Erin Phillips Rocket Vinyasa Certification from David Kyle at Yoga East Austin 2025

It all started when a hot yoga studio opened on the east side…I fell in love with the heat, the challenge, and the post-class euphoria. That was February of 2014 and I’ve had a consistent practice ever since. Since then, my practice has expanded from Bikram (26&2) to include Rocket, Dharma, Forrest, Animal Flow, Hand Balancing, JM Vinyasa and FRC.

I began teaching after receiving my 200 hour teacher training from Jared McCann. I’m passionate about continuing my education by attending workshops and trainings year round in different traditions and movement modalities.

My [current] Teaching Philosophy
I teach yoga to guide students into the balance of effort and ease—through structured, energetic, and playful classes that invite curiosity, focus, and deep listening. Each practice is a chance to explore stillness, refine breath control, and land in the present moment. Whether we’re building strength, trying to balance on our hands or finding deep rest in yoga nidra, my end goal is to burn off a bit of energy in order to offer exactly what’s needed: a few minutes of peace, with nowhere to go and nothing to do.
