Amy’s Yoga Bio

My yogi path began in Vietnam where I was born and attended a Buddhist Temple and School as a child until I immigrated to the United States in 1995.  My childhood exposure to Buddhist meditation became the seed for my introduction to qigong, taichi in 2009, then yoga in 2010. Today, my commitment to yoga and meditation are rooted in the Eight Limbs of the yogi path.  For over a decade of practicing, I have maintained a rigorous daily practice that has served as a foundation for my own growth and transformation. Wanting to share my passion for and the benefits of yoga with others, I have completed more than 1000 hours of Yoga Alliance and teacher training certifications. My training comes from numerous master teachers across a variety of practices, including Ashtanga, Rocket, Power, Yin, Bikram, Breathwork, Ice Cold Exposure, and Anatomy-Mobility-Movement . With over a decade of practitioner and 8+ years of experience in teaching, my approach challenges students to increase their flexibility and to strengthen their joints and muscles. My classes involve creative sequence-based alignments that provide a safe space for students by preventing injury. Through my training and daily practice, I discovered that synchronizing the breath with body movement can help release stresses of life, and improve one’s physical health, emotional peace, and spiritual well-being.
