Tom Sánchez
Tom was introduced to yoga in 2018 after establishing a visual relationship with the human body during a sketching class while at University. The curiosity of exploring the movement of the body led him to start his yoga practice in the hopes of using his own body to connect to his inner-most individuality. He’s explored new paths of life since then, though, and his perspective of yoga has been influenced by a deep research on esoteric traditions through which he has transformed his own philosophy; he now understands yoga as a path to come into contact with a reflection of your true authentic-self so that we can recognise the unity between all beings.
Having developed his practice in San Sebastian, the Basque Country, Tom has since moved back to his home town of Mexico City where he has developed his practice further and attended his first YTT with Laila Kuri, where he came into contact for the first time with a structured idea of where the legacy and philosophy of the ancient yogic traditions, and it also helped him understand the way in which the Study and the Practice complement each other.
He found Rocket Yoga as he was looking to continue in the path for knowledge, and found much more than he was bargaining for; he found a world of inspiring people, lead by her teacher Mariana Cisneros, who are joined in community by their shared bliss for life.
A deeply passionate being, Tom is thirsty for knowledge and for different expressions of authenticity. Coming from an artistic background in architecture and photography, he is interested the pleasures of all creative productions, and the wonders that the mind can reach. However, it is in the flow of movement of the body that he finds the greatest connection with one’s ’true-self’ from which to find the courage to live in an a way that creates a ripple effect of love, bliss and inspiration.
